It’s that spooky time of year again when everything slows down and festivities creep in. Let’s visit Erie, Colorado’s annual Halloween event, Boo! On Briggs Street!
Every year, Erie Parks and Recreation hosts a free trick-or-treat event for all aged goblins and ghouls. Held in downtown Erie along Briggs Street, children of all ages come to see their favorite shops and businesses decorated for the occasion. There is candy galore, activities for kids, music, and costume contests. A full day of hauntings!
Keep an eye out for next year’s Boo! On Briggs Street! It always promises to be a good time. More info can be found on the Erie, Co website.

Experience Erie’s Mom HoCo
Experience Erie’s Mom HoCo
Today we boogie over to Erie’s Mom HoCo, a newly started and already beloved annual fundraising event. Its goal is to gather women, celebrate, and give back to the community all at once.
This year’s Mom HoCo was a huge success! The theme was 1950’s Greased Lightning. Women (not just moms) came in their fifties attire, ready to enjoy great music, drinks, and small eats. The proceeds go to organizations that benefit Erie schools and the community. This year, $2,250 will be donated to the local nonprofit Erie Uplink.
Mom Prom / Mom HoCo came into being when co-planners Jenna Bullard and Megan Humbrecht gathered their friends to go bowling in wedding dresses in 2018. This sparked the idea of a community-wide fundraising event. Then, with the support of the PTCO at Erie Elementary and sponsors Brie Fowler and Kim Clancy, Mom Prom was born!
The first Mom Prom was 80s/90s-themed and raised over $3,300; the second was a 1920s-themed event that raised over $5,500, and they’re not stopping! Jenna and Megan have since established a nonprofit called ‘Erie Gives Back’, which looks to host similar events right here in Erie, Colorado.

This year’s Brewfest was a raging success! Over 950 people showed up to enjoy local craft beer, food trucks, music, games, and good vibes.

Today on Experience Erie, we are visiting The Housewolf Pack Dock Diving and Elite Boarding, a small farm in Erie where dogs can come to swim! Owner, Cassidy Orr, has created an oasis for dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, and swimming abilities to enjoy jumping from the spacious dock into the crystal clear pool to retrieve toys and swim! What’s unique about this facility is that dogs that are human-aggressive or dog-aggressive are welcome to come to play too! Cassidy believes that all dogs should have the opportunity to have fun in the water. Some dogs come to swim at their leisure, while others come to train for competitions. All first-time canine guests must attend an orientation, which can be booked at the bottom of the “dock diving” tab on their website.
